Mummy I'm Scared...

It was late. Mummy came in and tucked little Marina into bed.

“mummy, i’m scared of growing up.”

“Why?”

“i don’t want to get into bad things… i’m scared. because i know that’s what grown-ups do. they always get into difficult situations. but i don’t want to. i like how it is now. i don’t want to grow up..”

“But you’re going to have to grow up no matter…”

“can i choose not to, mummy?”

“No you can’t… just like how you can’t stop the sun from rising, or the river from flowing, or people from dying. You will have to face problems everyday when you're grown up. But you will learn to deal with it.”

“but i don’t want to… what if i fail? and can never ever find my way out…”

“You will, sayang. I will be here to guide if you need me.”

“promise?”

“Promise...”

“goodnight, mummy...”

Mummy gives Marina a peck on her cheek and vanished into the darkness.

Bonus Jonas!

I've found new love in music - the Jonas Brothers!

I was combing around for new sounds to please my ears with. Then I came across the Jonas'. I thought why not give them a chance. So I listened and found myself liking what I was listening to. They somehow remind me of Hansons, a three-man sibling band. Very pop/rock. Not exactly chart-topping, but I like it.

One room full of Stories

I have a dream of (if I'm rich enough) to have a library of my own.

I want to be able to spend at least 2 hours every day sitting in a sea of books. I want to be surrounded by knowledge, englightenment, and stories of the world. If given, I'd like to sit in a roomful of books forever and ever knowing that there are so many opportunities and so many things to learn from in the room.
There would be a soft, comfortable cushiony chair with an arm rest (possibly from IKEA) in the middle of the room exclusively for me. Then everyday I would come and sit, and read a few things as I let my imagination wander by itself.

I would have my own little sections, namely:

- Happy (for the happy stories)
- Sad (for the not so happy stories)
- Stephen King (for stories by SK)
- Life-long learning (for books that help me learn more about life)
- World culture/mythology/history (for learning and uncovering more of the world's secrets and beauty)
- Work-related (for things that might be useful to my work, if I work)
- Misc. (for others not stated above)

Then I should I have a shelf-ful of DVDs in the library as well. At one side of the room, is a mini entertainment corner with projector and screen, DVD/VCD player, and a 5.1 surround sound system. Wooooooo.

My own little world to escape to, I like.

Friends are Forever?

I used to think friends forever was the most pretentious quote I ever heard.

I mean, who can keep a friend relationship forever right? We try, but most of the time we're unsuccessful. Graduation Day, we weep, we hug, 5 years later, we're not talking to 75% of them already.

So I thought, friends forever? So dumb. Now, 3 years after graduation, the only person I'm talking to is Ruz. We always stuck together then. I'm glad we're still talking now. She's the kind of person I don't want to lose (I'm making her a special customised birthday gift hehehehe).

Then I saw the light. Maybe they don't mean having just one (friend) relationship forever. But that throughout your life, you'd find that you constantly need your friends with you, no matter who or when. For support, for company, for happiness, for sharing experiences, and for love. Sometimes they say, if you have at least one person who loves you, you can succeed.

I agree whole-heartedly. Everyone's been down before. If I'm down because I had problems with my friends, I'd always feel like going home. Because I know I can talk to one person - Mirzan. He listens to my problems and responds. I'm shy to talk abt my problems to the other ppl in my family. But Mirzan responds appropriately. He'd make me feel secure because I know he loves me. Once I said, I'm scared because I think my friend hates me. He turned my head to face him and said "i shoot your friend."

Morrie said - "The most important thing in life is to learn how to give out love, and let it come in."

What are we without the love of our family and friends? Friendship is forever.

Hi I'm 4 and I have a Phone

So the whole family has a phone now. Including the baby. But he's using it mainly for playing games. If you'd like to text him, the number is 8251****.
