Health Tip! (avoiding breast cancer)

It's fun being a kid or youth. We're still young, we know we can't really get sick at this age yet. We consume everything and anything we want. But as we age, and realise we start to get weak or our body starts acting a little different than usual, it worries us. Often due to bad habits that stick with us from young.

Today, I'm worried. That's why I'm writing it down. I don't want to have a short life and find myself in the hospital bed, about to take my last breath at 40. All this freeflow consumption of redbull and coca-cola has to stop.

I want to be able to have a long life. I want to be able to enjoy everyday seeing my children (and maybe husband), being able to breathe in normally, having no worries in my head (except work and family), and just live life to the fullest. That's my ideal future.

So I looked up on health tips! On how to help avoid breast cancer. I know my chances are higher because my mum had it. So here's how we can change our future!

EATS
Keep to vegetarian style diet
Eating very little meat
Cut down on dairy products
Consuming lots of tomates (i hear Veggi Delite calling my name)
Consuming plenty of olive oil
Increasing fiber
Buying food that comes in paper, glass or ceramic containers [for more info refer below]
Cutting out stimulants such as caffeine :( sugar :( and alcohol
Take up Yoga, meditate, or excercise more
Cut out smoking
Consuming essential oils Omega 3 and mega 6 (found in oily fish, seeds, evening primrose oil, and flax oil)

Avoid food wrapped in plastic
Chemicals are used in the manufacture of plastic packaging. And these chemicals can migrate into food during use. The quantities of migrating chemicals will depend largely on the nature of food, the contact temperature and the contact time. However, proper usage of the plastics will have insignificant or very low levels of chemical migration, which does not pose any health risk to consumers even after long-term use.

FOOD
Some food are known to be anti cancer. It includes *takes a deep breath*

sweet potatoes, carrots, watercress, peas, broccoli, cauliflower, kale, Brussels sprouts, spinach, onions, leeks, garlic, soy products, lemons, mangoes, melon, peppers, pumpkin, strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, blackberries, elderberries, pears, shiitake mushrooms, tomatoes, cabbage, grapefruit, kiwi fruit, oranges, seeds, nuts, squash, tuna, mackerel, salmon, wheat or rice bran, oats, wild rice, rye, apricot, walnuts, beans and the herbs and spices - rosemary, thyme, oregano and turmeric.

These vegetable and fruits should be eaten raw and as fresh as possible or lightly steamed.

Soybeans and products are extremely good in reducing tumor growth and inducing cancer cells to revert to normal. Soybeans have genistein in them, which is an anti-growth compound that prevents cancer from growing by preventing the formation of new blood vessels that aid cancer cells to grow.

Okay that's it for today, watch what you eat!
